Bantam Minor AA, Travel Teams, 2016-2017 (LaSalle Minor Hockey Association)

The Bantam Minors entered the Nation's Cup Tournament on the Weekend of November 25-27.  The team had a record of 1-1-3 in the Gold Division.  In the final game the Sabres contributed to an overall Canadian win by tying the USA Eagles 3 to 3.  Great showing Sabres and great overall win for Canada. 

Congrats to our first set of Champions for the Small Area Games Olympics and The Las Vegas Run and Gun Showdown.  Winners for SMAG on November 7 were Ward, O'Brien and DeSantis (wearing black) and for the Showdown were Goalies Conaty, Caruana, Sandy and Hadre (from left to right) . A well deserved change of pace for a team on a run.  Nice work Sabres. 

The Bantam minors travelled to Halton Hills October 7th to play in the Best of the Best Tournament over the weekend. The team went 1 and 3 against Toronto and Ottawa area teams. Despite the record, the team competed in every game coming within a goal or two at the end of each contest. Great job Sabres, on an outstanding showing. 

Congratulations to the Bantam Minors for reaching the championship game in the Rumble on the Rink Tournament this weekend in Detroit.

Special Thanks to coaches Mike Allen of the 2002 team and Darren Gifford of the 2005 team for stepping up tonight to get some skating in and the checking clinic complete.  In the end a very successful finish.  In the spirit of learning the game in light of checking I am asking that all participants take a look at the official Hockey Canada video attached to reinforce some of the concepts that coach Allen taught tonight.  Not only is it helpful but would have been part of the clinic normally.  Thanks, enjoy the video and see everyone Saturday night.  https://youtu.be/xyt9ttJRy7k (direct ...

To the parent and player of Bantam Minor: I would like to personally welcome each of you to the Bantam Minor AA tryouts.  I welcome each player that has an aspiration to play for this team and I welcome every parent that has dedicated so much time and effort to provide a memorable experience for their child through the game of hockey.  My hope is that we build a competitive team, but more important, that we as parents and coaches foster a healthy active environment that develops not only quality hockey players, but quality people, unforgettable experiences and skills essential for life ...
