In our first tourney of the year the Bantam
AE Sabres headed down to South Bend Indiana to play in the Irish Cup at the University of Notre Dame.
Playing strong teams, the Sabres gained confidence on the ice and really got to know each other while hanging out off ice. Mid way through day two the Sabres flipped a switch to start playing the kind of hockey I know they are capable of. Wins and losses are sometimes predetermined by the talent, age or playing level of a team. With that said, when a group of young men decide to compete, trust one another and listen to advice, the game changes.
On Sunday the Sabres captured their first win of the season by beating a team 7-2 whom they had tied 3-3 the day before. It was great to be apart of the Sabres pride being show during the Sunday game. Can't wait for the next game boys.
As a added bonus we were lucky enough to take in a Chicago Blackhawks team practice on Sunday on at Notre Dame. Pretty cool to watch the skill and speed.

Thanks for a great weekend Sabres Families. Already looking forward to Holland.
Coach Todd.
