OMHA Quarter Finals Bound
In back to back must win games Sunday and Monday, the Bantam AE Sabres proved to be a team whom chose to be great in the big moments.
On Sunday, knowing they had to win our final preliminary round game to force a tiebreaker game, the Sabres offense exploded at Tecumseh arena for 8 goals while only allowing 2.
This set up the tie breaker game against the always tough & well coached Belle River Canadians. An excellent game which was played at a break neck pace. The game went back and forth with your Sabres scoring the go ahead goal late in the 3rd period. Then able to fend off the Canadians with 4 straight face offs in the defensive zone the team, coaches and crowd watched as the clock struck 0.00 and a 3-2 win was sealed. The Sabres have punched their ticket to the OMHA Quarter finals.
As a coach in my 9th season behind a bench I must say it's one of the most gratifying nights I've been apart of. Our coaching staff is so happy for these 17 young men who chose to believe in themselves and work hard for each other.
