Please come out and show your support for our LaSalle Sabres Bantam AE Team as they face the Orangeville Flyers in Game 3 of the OMHA Semi Finals at the Vollmer Friday Mar 2nd at 7:30pm 

    While the celebration of reaching the OMHA Quarter finals was still seemingly underway we found ourselves all of the sudden about to start the first game of the series. Our opponent Chatham Kent was the heavy favorite having won our league play and dominated the play-downs so far. It really wasn’t surprising when we started the game down 0-2 quickly. Then things turned, wow did they turn. The team rallied to score the next 5 unanswered and walk off with a win. In back to back must win games Sunday and Monday, the Bantam AE Sabres proved to be a team whom chose to be great in the big moments.

    As coaches, we cannot simply make a team Champions. Winning teams have less to do with the raw talent and more to do with what's inside both the dressing room and an athlete. Together, they must find their own team identity and only then can they choose to do what's needed on and off the playing field to become the best version of themselves.

During our first few days as coaches for the Bantam AE team this year we took some time to speak one on one with each player to ask them about their hockey goals. To a player they all wanted the same thing…   To better understand this team you must realize where they have been as individuals. After our conversations we realized that NONE of the 17 players on the roster had ever won a hockey tournament or been on a championship team.  A goal had been set...

    In our first tourney of the year the Bantam AE Sabres headed down to South Bend Indiana to play in the Irish Cup at the University of Notre Dame.     Playing strong teams, the Sabres gained confidence on the ice and really got to know each other while hanging out off ice. Mid way through day two the Sabres flipped a switch to start playing the kind of hockey I know they are capable of.
