Sabres U16A Blue Stoney Creek Tournament of Champions

Sabres U16A Blue brings home the Veteran's Cup!

Great Lakes Veterans Cup The boys played in this tournament in Holland MI as the lone Canadian entry and finished the round robin with a 3 win 1 loss record. An offensive outburst and a shut-out from goalie Levi Thiessen in the forth game secured their spot in the finals against the 4-0 Glenbard Hockey Club. Both teams came out strong in the final but then after an injury to one of our defensemen the Sabres kicked up a notch and Glenbard couldn’t respond. The Sabres posted a 5 – 0 victory in the end with a shut-out from Emmett VanWezel. Perfect finish to a great week-end of hockey. 

Our coaching staff is very proud to announce the 2024/2025 U16 Second Entry team.  We know as coaches that all the returning players are very grateful to have this opportunity for a second entry team at this age level.  Even if your name is not on the list keep working on your game and there will always be opportunities in the future.   We thank you for your tremendous efforts in tryouts and we promise you it made for a very competitive atmosphere and tough decisions.
