Bantam Major AA, Travel Teams, 2019-2020 (LaSalle Minor Hockey Association)

The LaSalle Sabres Bantam Major team went on a road trip to Columbus, Ohio this past weekend to watch the Columbus Blue Jackets take on the San Jose Sharks at Nationwide Arena. The players were fortunate to have the opportunity to meet some of the San Jose Shark players who are now coached by Windsor native Bob Boughner, including Joe Thornton, Brent Burns and Patrick Marleau. The boys enjoyed the opportunity to spend some quality time together off the ice, during the bus ride, and at the game where a lot of laughs were had and memories were made!

The Bantam Major team competed hard this past weekend in the Waterloo Memorial Tournament. The coaching staff is very proud of the boys for their focus and determination. The competition was fierce, yet the Sabres played hard to finish fourth in their division. The Sabres tied two games on Friday against the St. Thomas Junior Stars (3-3) and Woodstock Junior Navy Vets (2-2).  On Saturday, the Sabres played the Brantford 99ers, a team who was undefeated all year and who won the tournament, losing 3-0. The Sabres were down two players that game as one was taken out with a broken collarbone and ...

On Saturday November 9, 2019 some of the members of the LaSalle Sabres Bantam Major Team helped with The Royal Canadian Legion's Poppy Campaign. They were collecting donations at Costco alongside Veteran Mike Akpata.    "They gave their tomorrows so we could have our today" Lest we forget.

The Bantam Major team spent a fun-filled Thanksgiving weekend with their hockey family at the Best of the Best Halton Hills Tournament. With a fourth place finish overall, this team continues to demonstrate that they are fierce competitors and a force to be reckoned with. The Sabres started off strong on Friday winning two games, including a 4-1 victory against the Caledon Hawks, who ended up winning the tournament, and 2-0 victory against the Junior Cougars. On Saturday, the Sabres pulled off a 1-0 win against the Hamilton Huskies, which earned them a spot in the semi-finals on Sunday.

Great Start to the Season! The Bantam Major AA team made a great showing at their first tournament of the year at the Niagara Falls Early Bird Tournament finishing second overall. The Sabres won their first game 3-1 against the Streetsville Tigers. They came back strong after a loss to the Oakville Rangers, to win their third game against the Pickering Panthers to advance to the semi-finals on Sunday. The LaSalle Sabres won the semi-final game against the Windsor Junior Spitfires advancing to the finals. It was a tough loss to the Oakville Rangers in the finals however, it was a great showing ...

The Bantam Major team is preparing for the upcoming hockey season with some dryland training.  "The will to win is important, the will to prepare is vital" Go Sabres!

On Wednesday June 5, some of the team attended the Fire Hall to assist in cleaning and cutting strawberries for the Town of LaSalle Strawberry Festival 2019.

On Saturday July 13, 2019 members of the LaSalle Sabres Bantam Major team filled sandbags and placed them around a residence on Major Boulevard in an effort to prevent further flooding from high water levels. The homeowner was very appreciative of the teams hard work.
