The U10AA LaSalle Sabres are coming off a great weekend experience in Columbus. The team was fortunate enough to take part in both Columbus and San Jose’s Saturday morning pre-skate. This was followed by a tour of the Columbus Blue Jackets’ facility where the kids were allowed entry into the dressing room and workout facility.
Before heading to watch the Columbus – San Jose game that night, the team played a tough Columbus Mavericks team. With hard work and perseverance the team scored to win with 30 seconds left in regulation. Sunday morning brought a new challenge for the Sabres, after a late night at the Columbus game they faced a strong Columbus Capitals team at 8:30am. The Sabres came to play! The impressive forecheck and backcheck resulted in a 6-2 victory. This great team building weekend could not have ended any better, a weekend these kids will never forget.
This Columbus experience comes on the heels of a great season so far. The team
continues to push themselves to be the best they can be. These young hockey
players work hard at practice and continue to develop their skills. They are
currently 36-3 on the season and ranked 3 rd in the province of Ontario.
In a previous weekend they won the West Niagara Tournament in grand fashion
by winning in a shootout after a scoreless 3 on 3 overtime. This team is looking
forward to the remainder of the season and the many challenges in front of them.
Keep working hard U10 Sabres, the next few months will bring some exciting
hockey!
