Congratulations to the U9AA Team
Congratulations to an amazing group of kids on a great season. This team had a 25-2 record, brought home 2 tournament wins and a silver in their Bluewater Championship.
In February, the U9AA team ventured up the 401 to play in the YGK Shootout in Kingston. This special group of players worked hard in preparation for their first ever full ice tournament. It paid off, the team finished with a 6-0 record beating Northumberland, Kingston, Belleville, Brampton, and North Durham. It was a true team effort in the finals beating a tough Northumberland team 4-2.
In March, the U9AA team participated in the local Bluewater Championship tournament hosted by Tecumseh Minor Hockey. The team battled all weekend, making their way to a much deserved final. They lost a tough one in a shootout after playing hard to a 1-1 tie.
Last weekend, the players wrapped up their season with a victory at the U9 Full Ice Championship tournament in Belle River. The group played hard and finished with a 5-0 record. The team battled against Brampton, Markham, George Bell(Toronto), and Kitchener to make it to the finals against Sarnia. Sarnia was a strong competitor, but our LaSalle Sabres were victorious with a 4-2 win!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing coaching staff, volunteers, and parents for a great season. Friendships were made, players had fun, development exceeded expectations and having a successful season topped all it off.
