VANDALISM AT VOLLMER RECREATIONAL COMPLEX
Dear Members of the LMHA:

Please afford me this opportunity to share some sincere thoughts regarding our association’s use of the Vollmer Recreational Complex.

After discussions with Town of LaSalle staff this past week, it has come to our attention that some individuals have decided that it is ok to show disrespect for the Vollmer property in the form of vandalism. Newly painted walls have been defaced including damage to the property in part to the number of individuals who continue to play hockey in the hallways and dressing rooms. I myself (and many others) have spoken to numerous young players and their parents and surprisingly have received responses that would certainly not be described as cooperative.

The LMHA, the Town of LaSalle and its people have worked hard for many years to provide an excellent facility to participate in Canada’s great game. For those that have been around for a while, you know that you can’t even compare what we have now to what came before.

With these thoughts in mind, we are asking parents to speak with their children, coaches to speak with their players about observing the policy that is posted in the arena. There is to be NO playing of hockey in the dressing rooms or hallways etc. Regarding any other types of vandalism, I believe the point is made.

Please be advised that if individuals find it difficult to follow this direction, the LMHA reserves the right to suspend either temporarily or permanently anyone who is subject to causing damage to the Vollmer Complex including restitution for the repairs necessitated by their actions.

Sincerely,

Mike Seguin

President
