Silver Medalists - 2017 Randy Merton/Dan Holland Memorial Tournament
Congratulations to Lasalle Novice AE Blue silver medalists at the 2017 Randy Merton/Dan Holland Memorial Tournament. After a fantastic battle throughout the round robin, LaSalle was able to clinch the 3rd place seed in their division placing them in the Silver Championship for the Quarter Finals.
Winning against London 5-1, they were off to the semi-finals to face off against a team that had beat them in round robin play. LaSalle was ready for the match, and was victorious winning 5-2 against Flamborough Sabres.
The finals was going to be a difficult game, but all of the kids were ready to play their hardest. The regular play ended in a 2-2 score, and went into overtime.....that's right overtime for the finals. What a back and forth period of overtime it was, and unfortunately ended with a goal for Kitchener, LaSalle finished in second place. A fantastic showing by all of the LaSalle hockey players and the coaching staff could not be more proud of the heart and determination given by each and every one of the players.
