"The LaSalle Sabres Peewee Minor team played five hard fought games in
the Randy Merten/Dan Holland Memorial Belle River Tournament over the
weekend where they ended up triumphant in the end.
The Sabres beat the Niagara Falls Flyers 2-1, lost 4-2 to the Flamborough Sabres and beat the Mississauga North Stars 4-2 in their three preliminary games. In the semi-finals the LaSalle Sabres were matched up against the very talented Flamborough Sabres for the second time in the tournament. The game was a hard fought battle, which had to go to a five minute 4 on 4 overtime. In the end, the LaSalle Sabres won the game 4-3 before having to go to a shootout. In the finals they were matched up against their Bluewater rivals from Essex. In a very tight back and forth game, the Sabres came out on top by a score of 2-1. Congratulations boys, you definitely deserved the Championship.
