Parents and Players,
Our 2025/2026 Select Team Tryouts are in progress. The association would like to thank the Head Coaches who have stepped up to coach these teams for us.
The board wanted to communicate the following information to you all so that everyone understand the tryout and selection process and expected ice availability for the season. Our scheduler has been hard at work to make this program as optimal as possible for all who are involved.
The U7 and U9 teams can anticipate 3-4 ice sessions per month as a baseline.
The U11, U13, and U15 teams can anticipate 2-3 ice sessions per month as a baseline.
Your coaches will communicate more detail regarding practices and game plans once the teams are selected and finalized.
Please note that the LMHA Board of Directors is taking a Hockey Development approach, first and foremost, for these teams. As such, the Board has directed the coaches with combined age groups, that teams must consist of at least 40% minor players. This will ensure that teams have a mix of both minor and major players with the goal of helping these players get to the next level of hockey. The decisions regarding player selection will be left to the Head Coaches of each team to determine and their decisions will be final and have the LMHA Board of Director’s full support.
