The U18 LaSalle A hockey team for the 2025-2026 season will be coached by Tim Edwards for the fourth straight year. The rest of the staff will comprise of experienced coaches that have a diverse range of skills to bring to the table. The coaching group will not be finalized until after tryouts are complete. This team will believe in fostering a challenging and competitive environment but also a supportive one where every player can grow, both on and off the ice.
From year to year the makeup of a U18 team can change dramatically and coaches need to adjust. The coaching philosophy of this team will be structured around the idea that this will be a player’s team. There will be an emphasis on hard work, dedication and accountability led by the coaches, and passed on to individual players and their teammates. During tryouts coaches will be looking for strong skaters, high hockey IQ players, leaders, communicators and those with a team-oriented mindset. Practices will often have the team simply split in half to force competition as much as possible.
As a player Tim was involved at the minor hockey level for LaSalle A/AA and Windsor AAA Zone teams. Junior hockey involvement included being a member of both the Kingsville Comets and LaSalle Vipers. Recent coaching experience includes being part of the LaSalle U18 staff as an assistant for two years and head coach for one. Before that, he led the Sandwich Secondary boys team for six years.
