LMHA ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR REFEREE TRYOUTS
The LaSalle Minor Hockey Association invites any LMHA player with birth years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 who are interested in becoming an OMHA certified official to put their name forward at this time.

To register, please complete and submit Referee Application form, found under Docs/Resources or by clicking here.  The application form will close on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11:59pm.

Referee tryouts will begin promptly on Sunday, May 26th from 4:00PM-5:00PM at The Vollmer Arena in LaSalle.

The applicants will participate in on ice skating skills as other skill sets regarding Officials duties on the ice .

All applicants must have a certified helmet with no alterations made to the helmet.  Any applicants who have loose chin straps or side straps and firmly clipped into the retaining brackets on the side of the helmet will not be allowed on the ice.  You will need to wear your skates, helmet with shield/cage and other appropriate clothing such as a track suit.

 

Applicants must submit a resume.  Please bring it in person on May 26th, 2024.


Applicants will need to complete a written test regarding rules of the game after the skate .

Applicants are required to be at the Arena Minimum 20 minutes prior to ice time - no exceptions .

You will complete a 20-question multiple choice test immediately after the on-ice portion in the dressing rooms. It should take you no more than ½ hour.

The LMHA Board of directors will review:

1) the results of the test,

2) the recommendations from the OMHA certified referees who will be conducting the on-ice portion,

3) the submitted resumes.

Candidates will be notified of the outcome after the June board meeting.

The OMHA has designated 5 spots for the LMHA for the September Referee School certification clinic. If you are not successful – keep trying!  Not everybody is accepted the 1st time and many are successful in subsequent tryouts!!
