A special opportunity has been presented to our organization that we wanted to share with our hockey families. On April 6 in Windsor,
Detroit Red Wings legend and Stanley Cup champ, #16 Vladimir Konstantinov, will be making his first Canadian appearance since a 1997 limousine accident tragically ended his career.
As part of his 12-3 p.m. special booking at the
Rose City Comic Convention (which will see 100% of all proceeds from autographs/photo opps benefit the Vladimir Konstantinov Special Needs Trust) the show organizers are looking to select
16 area hockey players to comprise an Honour Guard to escort Konstantinov into the show.
Players will wear a jersey of their choice (along with their gloves and stick) and walk alongside this hockey legend to the sounds of his signature, "Bad to the Bone" theme in a rousing Windsor and area welcome to this fallen hero whose career ended all too soon.
Interested players (aged 16 and under of any gender) are asked to
submit their name and a contact phone number to [email protected]. Winners will be chosen at random and notified the week prior to the event.
