ESSENTIAL WORKERS UPDATE AND LMHA RETURN TO HOCKEY
Good afternoon everyone:

The LMHA has received several valid questions regarding the mandatory OHF Health Screening Questionnaire and the absence of questions on it related to the situation of families with essential workers. While it is our position that families with essential workers would be exempt from being prohibited from their children’s participation, we feel it prudent to validate this with both the OMHA and OHF. CBSA language, with support from local health authorities, excludes essential workers that cross the border daily.

We are aware of the unique situation we are in as a border city and having a large percentage of people crossing the border as essential workers as compared to other parts of the province. This has created a level of uncertainty with respect to how LMHA families with an essential worker are to complete the OHF health questionnaire. Please know that we have already put this question forward to the OMHA and the OHF and await their response.

Today we received the following response regarding this issue: “The OHF have confirmed that this has been sent to the Government and they are in the process of following up with their liaison there. Will advise.”

We will follow-up as we receive information.
