MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT: COVID-19 AND RETURN TO HOCKEY UPDATE
Submitted By Webmaster on Wednesday, August 5, 2020
Dear LMHA Members:

I trust that everyone has had a safe summer. I take this opportunity to update you on the most recent developments regarding the LMHA Return to Hockey planning.

You will note on the LMHA website and other social media that the OHF has updated last week the COVID-19 Return to Hockey Framework (July 27). The LMHA Board of Directors has been reviewing the document the past week and will begin Wednesday the development of a plan for the LMHA to return to operations. This work will see the Town of Lasalle and the local health unit involved in its development. I am pleased to report that 4 of our hockey parents have volunteered to sit on the planning committee in order to bring their varied backgrounds and experience to the table.

It should be noted that pursuant to Hockey Canada, Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) and Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) guidelines, we will not begin full programming in September. We will however develop a plan that sees a gradual return to hockey that will provide skill development programming with some of our exceptional hockey partners.

You should be aware that these sessions will only be available to REGISTERED players. The cost for the session registration will be determined in the near future where the aim is group players of relevant skill and age level. When hockey returns to its fullest of programming, the registration fees for the season will be prorated accordingly.

If you have not had the opportunity as of yet, please go to the COVID-19 section of the LMHA website to view the related documents.

Enjoy as  best you can the rest of the summer and we look forward to seeing everyone back in action!

Mike Seguin
