Skills Contest Rules
Each team will be allowed 13 players into the skills contest. All players participating in the contest must be in full gear. Players not participating are invited to be on the bench area and ice surface (between events) to take pictures. Non-participating players must still wear skates, helmet, and jersey.
Scoring for each event (except shootout) will be on a 7-1 rank. First place receives 7 points through last place receiving 1 point. Shootout will apply 10 total extra points, 5 points for the best goal and 5 points for the best save.
Event 1: Fastest Skater
2 Players from each team will skate a timed full lap around the rink (marked by cones).
Event 2: Hardest Shot
2 Players from each team will shoot from the hashmarks. Each player will have 3 shots with the highest speed from each player as the recorded score.
Event 3: Stick Handling
2 players from each team will have 1 attempt to stick handle through a set of cones.
Event 4: Accuracy
3 Players from each team will participate. 1 player will pass from the slot area, alternating to the players on either side of the net. The shooters must keep one foot on the goal line at all time.
Event 5: Goalie Distance Shots
One goalie from each team will shoot 1 puck from each of the following (close blue line, red line, far blue line, far goal line)
Event 6: Shootout
The goalie not participating in the distance shot will participate in this event. Each team will also have 2 shooters. Each shooter will have 2 shots.
