The LaSalle Sabres U13AE team participated in the
International Silver Stick – Chatham Regional’s this past weekend. On Friday December 10th, they started
off the tournament with a match up against the Milton Winterhawks (Blue). While keeping the puck in the opponents’
zone, the LaSalle Sabres won with a final score of 4-0.
On Saturday, the Sabres travelled to Tilbury for their early 8am game against the Orillia Terriers. With lots of great passes and skilled plays, the boys won the match 3-1. The second game of the day took place in Chatham. With two wins behind them, the Sabres took on the TNT Tornadoes. The game was a battle for the puck, and control of the neutral zone. The team played very hard, and won the game. The Sabres moved on to the Semi-finals, finishing first in the round robin part of the tournament.
At the Semi-Final game this morning, the LaSalle Sabres faced off against the Guelph Gryphons. The Sabres played with great teamwork and determination, the U13AE team won and moved on to the championship match. With a short lunch break to refuel, and recharge, the LaSalle Sabres U13AE returned to the Erickson arena in Chatham to play against the Tecumseh Eagles. The Sabres met a local, and well known contender, determined to win the game. The boys showed their perseverance, determination and excellent teamwork and when the final buzzer rang, the score was 2-1, the LaSalle Sabres U13AE are the 2021-2022 Chatham Regional Silver Stick CHAMPIONS.
The LaSalle Sabres U13AE team was on FIRE this weekend in our third tournament of the season!! They faced some tough competition but the boys dug in and left everything they had on the ice to come away tournament CHAMPIONS!!
