The PeeWee AE team traveled to Stoney Creek this past weekend to participate in the 34th Annual Ace Bailey Memorial Tournament.
The team got off to a rough start as 3 of our families where stuck in traffic on the 401 in an accident. Thank God the families where okay. The team was down 3 players due to the accident for our first game against Stoney Creek. The boys came out flying posting a 6 -0 win against Stoney Creek in game 1.
In game 2 on Friday night we played a very tough opponent the London Bandits. The boys were down a goal late in the third period and with the goalie pulled we tied it up, but ended up losing in a 3 on 3 overtime format.
Game 3 was Saturday against the Glancaster Bombers, the boys had a very tough fight on their hands trailing 3 to 1 in the 3rd period the boys buckled down with their “never say die” attitude and tied up the game to send it to overtime. This time we won the 3 on 3 overtime and had a 2 and 1 record going into our 4th game against Burlington. The team fought hard but lost to Burlington 5 -3.
Overall this Peewee AE group continues to grow and improve every week, the team continues to demonstrate that they are fierce competitors that NEVER STOP until the final buzzer.
Way to go boys the coaches are proud of you, keep working hard to reach our goal.
