This past
weekend we traveled to South Bend, Indiana to compete in the Irish South Bend Cup Tournament Series. It was an amazing weekend both on and off the
ice. Our players came to this tournament
ready to play and gave it everything they had.
After the round robin our record was 3-0-1, which allowed us to advance
to the finals. The final game would be
played against the Novi Ice Cats, the one team
we tied during the round robin. Our
players were looking for some redemption, they played hard and never let up, and
came away with the 5-0 win!
Congratulations to our tournament MVP, goalie, Simon Chripko. Simon posted back to back shut outs in the final two games of the tournament.
This weekend was about more than just hockey. We went to Indiana with a group a kids who played on many different teams last year, and came back as a united team who bonded on and off the ice. I am proud of all the players, they carried themselves well and did a great job representing Lasalle the entire weekend. I was told by the hotel staff that we were one of the most respectful teams they had ever hosted.
To say this weekend was a success would be an understatement!
