The Most powerful teaching tool is modeling. By operating on the principle that your actions and how you conduct yourself will always speak much louder than your words. Thank you, 'Great job, parents.'
Our group of 2006 LaSalle Peewee Minor AA parents all deserve a huge compliment for being great role models for your son's. Especially this weekend. Arguably the largest learning curve to date when it comes to body contact and physical play in their hockey careers. This aggressive type of game will set the tone for play downs, playoffs and for future hockey at this level. So, again thank you for encouraging them rather then any disruptive behavior. I say this because I witnessed some bad behavior and negative aggressive comments directed to players, parents, coaches and officials that definitely were not positive from other parents. So, credit needs to be given when credit is due. Again, 'Great job'.
We have Inspired players. Learning that they can do more than they think they can. Their entertaining possibilities that stretch the limits of their beliefs. We're witnessing each player being built up with more self-esteem. They've been praised for doing a lot of things RIGHT. They've stopped questioning their own abilities.
Above the skills, techniques and strategies within the narrow confines of hockey they were exposed to opportunities this weekend where the more important life lessons can be taught such as trusting your teammates, sacrificing individual needs for the benefit of the group, sticking up for a teammate, understanding what it takes to win, realizing that consistent hard work pays off and that they need to 'SKATE' all the time!
