U13 HOUSELEAGUE SKILLS COMPETITION AND ALL STAR GAME
On Friday, March 4 many LMHA U13 House League players, families and friends gathered to enjoy a fun evening at the Capri Recreation Centre. All those in attendance enjoyed watching players participating in a Skills Competition followed by an All Star game.
For the Skills Competition the 4 Categories were:
- FASTEST SKATER
- HIT THE DOT
- BREAKAWAY CHALLENGE
- TEAM RELAY
Congratulations to Gabriel Nelson from U13 Gold for winning the Hit-The-Dot Accuracy Challenge!
Congratulations to Kara Robinet from U13 Black for winning in the Fastest Skater event!!
And Congratulations to Desmond Palamides from U13 Black for being the winner in the Breakaway Challenge!!
This was followed by the All Star game. The crowd expected a fast-paced action-packed game and the players delivered it. There were plenty of chances from both sides. The intense man-on-man playing and excellent goaltending prevented the score from being higher than it could have been.
Amidst the high-flying action there was even a penalty shot awarded to team Navy BLUE in the third period.
Team Navy BLUE were able to capitalize on their opportunities and lead throughout the game. Team WHITE poured on the effort but were stymied by the goalies at every turn as Team Navy BLUE prevailed 3-0.
Thank you to the players for competing and putting on a great show, the coaches for running the skills competitions, their work behind the benches during the game, and everyone who helped plan and organize a fun and enjoyable event!
