Congratulations to the Peewee Minor team on capturing the first ever OMHA AA Championship for the LaSalle Minor Hockey Association.

The 2002 LaSalle Sabres finished first in regular season play with 20 wins, 1 loss, and 3 ties.

In Playdown action, the Peewee Minor team swept the Belle River Canadiens in 3 games; defeated the Oakville Rangers Blue team in the quarter-final round 3 games to 2 after being down in the series 0-2 setting the stage for a rematch from last year’s semi-final round against a very strong Oakville Rangers Red team. On the brink of elimination, the Sabres won game #4 in overtime to force game #5 back in LaSalle where the Sabres eliminated last year’s OMHA champions with a score of 3-1.

In the final round, LaSalle played host to the Richmond Hill Stars and started the series with a win and a tie before travelling to Richmond Hill for games 3&4 which resulted in a loss and a win. The Sabres then came back to LaSalle to win game #5 and the Championship in front of a huge supporting crowd with a score of 3-0.

Congratulations boys, well done!
